Who we are
Books have the power to transport us to different worlds, but their journey from production to your hands isn’t always kind to our planet. New Chapter, Same Story is a sustainability campaign dedicated to raising awareness about the environmental impact of book manufacturing, distribution, and disposal.
On average, 320 million books are dumped in landfills every year, with only 33.3% being recovered for recycling or other purposes. Now we believe in the magic of storytelling, but we also believe in protecting the world we live in.
That’s why our mission is to educate and inspire readers to adopt more sustainable habits—rethinking how books are sourced, shared, and disposed of. Through small, thoughtful changes, we can continue to get lost in our favorite stories while making choices that are kinder to the environment.
We’re not here to discourage reading or book buying—we’re here to offer insight, spark conversation, and promote sustainable alternatives that benefit both you and the planet. The next chapter of book culture can be greener, and it starts with us.
